WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM STARTING THE 21 DAY WELLNESS CLEANSE?

DO I CONSUME ONLY VEGAN RAW PLANT BASED FOODS ON THE CLEANSE?

Vegan is the key to this cleanse and vegan, raw, plant-based is the optimum consumption goal. Consuming vegan, raw, plant-based food on this cleansing diet is the gold standard as far as gleaming the most detoxification results. I’m aware that sometimes it will be necessary to add a bit of cooked food here and there. Adding steamed vegetables, cooked gluten free grains and heated soups are completely cleanse compatible. Veering from vegan is not. The less you add heat to your food in the way of temperature, the more you will detox and cleanse.

Don’t throw in the towel if you stray away from raw living. You will still be on track and gain wonderful health benefits by just consuming a vegan plant based diet. This is your cleanse and whichever way works best for you will be the perfect way to do it.

ARE LEGUMES ONLY GOOD IF THEY ARE RAW AND SPROUTED?

No, many legumes are only good if they have been soaked and cooked. The enzyme inhibitor that coats the bean can be a source of unpleasant gas. The only beans that I personally soak and sprout are lentils, garbanzos, mung and adzuki beans.

HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH FRUIT?

This is up to you, as calories can be gained from either sugar or fat. If you are heavier on your sugar content ie. fruit, then drop your fat. But this is an individual call. If you find that you are losing too much weight on the cleanse, increase your fruit content.

WHAT ABOUT GLUTEN-FREE BREADS, CRACKERS AND TORTILLAS?

Yes, many stores now supply a great selection of gluten free foods, just check the ingredients to make sure the products have not replaced gluten with sugar or unhealthy fats to enhance the flavor. Fruits, veggies, leafy greens, seeds, and nuts are all gluten free so you have loads of great options to choose from.

IS ALL SUGAR OFF THE TABLE OR CAN I USE OTHER NATURAL SUGAR SOURCES LIKE AGAVE OR COCONUT NECTAR?

Agave and coconut nectar in moderate amounts is okay. Even though these sugars may be a healthier choice to white table sugar, they will still affect your blood sugar levels, so use sparingly. Stevia is a natural sweet taste of an herb that is a great for addressing your sweet tooth without spiking blood sugar.

DO I NEED TO BE CONCERNED WITH WHAT FOODS I EAT TOGETHER?

Food combining is a theory about different foods having different digestion times. What I feel you should be concerned with is that you eat your fruits first before other items on your cleansing diet. Wait at least 15 minutes before consuming something else.

SHOULD I AVOID GREEN TEA ON THE CLEANSE DUE TO ITS CAFFEINE CONTENT?

Green tea is on the list, even with its caffeine content. Green tea is a great source of antioxidants and has other medicinal benefactors. If you are trying to avoid caffeine completely, then take it off your list.

WILL I ONLY BE DRINKING JUICES AND SMOOTHIES DURING THE CLEANSE OR WILL REAL FOOD BE INCLUDED TOO?

On the 21 Day Wellness Cleanse you will be consuming not only juices and smoothies but a wide array of whole, living, plant-based foods throughout your day.

CAN I HAVE PEANUT BUTTER ON THE CLEANSE?

Yes, you can eat peanut butter, but my understanding is that it’s highly contaminated. You may want to try almond or other nut butters as alternative choices.

MY BREAKFAST USUALLY CONSISTS OF OATMEAL, WILL THIS BE OKAY?

Yes, oatmeal on the cleanse is acceptable food. Use steel cut oats rather than just instant oat cereals. Oats can have a tendency to be cross contaminated with gluten products. You can either soak or cook the steel oats. There’s a great breakfast recipe on this cleansing diet I know you’ll want to try.

I HAVE A VERY BUSY SCHEDULE, WILL I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE CLEANSE?

I understand your concern about adding another thing to your already busy schedule. There’s definitely an adjustment period that takes some extra time to figure out what you need to do for getting into a rhythm. You’ll soon discover how you are easily navigating the cleansing diet and nourishing yourself with the highest quality foods on the planet. Planning ahead will be your best cleanse tactic so that you do not find yourself hungry and grabbing for convenience instead of nutritional advantage. Some people find that preparing a few dishes ahead of time works well as a success strategy. Yep, but making them is very easy and lighter on the pocket book, void of chemicals, and they contain a better nutrient profile.

WILL I LOSE WEIGHT ON THE CLEANSE?

Increased energy, clarity of thought, better sleep, and a more efficient digestion system are just a few of the benefits of being on the 21 Day Wellness Cleanse. Weight loss can play a role in the cleanse too, but will vary from person to person. I know that when I went to Hippocrates Health Institute, many of the other participants were dropping quite a bit of weight right away. I on the other hand did not really lose any significant weight until after I returned home. If weight is a major goal of yours, you will want to be mindful not to overdo fruit and nuts.

CAN I EAT ANIMAL FOODS?

Absolutely not! No animal meat, fish, dairy, or eggs will be allowed on the cleanse!

WHAT SPECIAL EQUIPMENT DO I NEED FOR THE CLEANSE?

A cutting board, good knife, and a blender should be your minimum to get you through the cleanse. Adding in a food processor and juicer is icing on the cake.

DO YOU RECOMMEND COLON HYDROTHERAPY DURING THE CLEANSE?
