Vegan Holiday Nog Cheer!

You’ve shopped, wrapped, ribboned and bowed, the tree is trimmed and the stockings all hang in a row.  Time to throw away your lists, trim the tree, crank up the carols and indulge in bit of yule time fun. Nothing brings on the season cheer better than a large glass of creamy delicious Wholy Holiday Nog!

 This truly traditional winter treat brings together the classic characteristics of your favorite holiday brew.  My eggnog look alike recipe is not only a creamy healthy vegan alternative to the real deal but it’s bursting with mouth watering wellness!!!  The blend of almonds and macadamia nuts provide the creamy rich smooth texture while the hemp seeds stand in quite nicely for the eggs!!!  Wholy Holiday Nog is so easy and quick to whip up it’s certain to put a smile on elves both young and old!!

WHOLY HOLIDAY VEGAN NOG

 What you’ll need:

  • 3 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup raw macadamia nuts (soaked 30 minutes in filtered water)
  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 dates (pitted)
  • pinch of sea salt

 What to do:

Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until rich and creamy.

Serve as in a festive glass or mug, sprinkle on a bit more nutmeg  even  gussy  it up with and cinnamon stick swizzle.

 Makes 4 servings if you don’t invite me over and you can keep it fresh in the refrigerator for about 4 days.

 *You can always spike up your nog by adding rum, bourbon or brandy to the mix or ala mode shots on the side.

 *To make a Wholy Nog Smoothie, just add ice and blend again.
