I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the season of winter than snuggling up in front of a glowing fire with a steaming cup of rich hot chocolate.  My Raw Living Vegan Hot Chocolate can stand up in taste and texture to any of the dairy sugar versions on the market.  Easy to make and even easier to drink.

Wholy Hot Chocolate

What you’ll need:

4 cups of almond milk

Wholy Hot Chocolate½ cup macadamia nuts (soaked in filtered water for 30 minutes)

6 pitted dates (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

4 Tablespoons of cacao powder

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon cayenne powder (more if you like to kick the heat up)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch sea salt

glowing fire (optional)

What to do:

Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until rich and creamy.  If you are using a high speed blender you can continue to blend at high speed until you have reached your desired temperature.  You can also place your blended creamy mixture in a sauce pan and heat on the stove.
